Bruce Chisholm

Director and Structural Engineer

BE (Civil & Structural), MIPENZ, IntPE CPEng

Bruce was initially employed at Hanlon & Partners in 1973 as a graduate engineer from Canterbury University. He was offered a partnership in the firm in 1978, becoming the sole director in 1998. With over 40 years experience Bruce leads a team of four engineers, four draughtsmen and two administration staff.

David Hand

Director and Structural Engineer

BE (Civil)(Hons), PG Cert Eng (Fire), MIPENZ, CPEng 225191, SESOC, NZSEE

David is a Structural Engineer and director with 15 years of Structural and Fire Design experience in New Zealand. He specialises in assessment, design, strengthening and construction monitoring. This includes low to medium rise concrete, concrete block, steel and timber framed structures.

Sean O’Neill

Structural Engineer

BSC(Hons), MSC(Hons), MIPENZ

Sean is a structural engineer with 16 years experience in New Zealand and the United States. He specialises in seismic assessment/ strengthening of existing buildings, structural design of new buildings, alterations and construction monitoring. Sean has experience with design of concrete, steel, masonry and timber in compliance with National Standards.

Nick Borren

Structural Engineer

BE (Civil)(Hons)

Nick is a graduate structural engineer who has been with Hanlon & Partners for 2 years. He graduated from the University of Canterbury at the end of 2011 and spent time in Europe before returning to Hanlons where he had previously completed a summer internship. Nick is involved in both the design and assessment of new and existing structures.

Jono Sorley

Structural Engineer

Jono is a graduate structural engineer who joined Hanlon & Partners in 2017. He graduated from the University of Canterbury at the end of 2016. Jono is involved in producing structural designs for residential and commerical builds.

Dan Casey

Drafter

National Diploma in Architectural Technology Level 5, Diploma in Architectural Draughting Level 5

Daniel joined Hanlon & Partners Ltd in 2003, after completing his studies at the Otago Polytechnic. He works on large projects involving liaising with clients and consultants in order to prepare drawings, contracts and specifications, through to construction monitoring.

Rick Thompson

Drafter

National Diploma in Architectural Technology Level 5

Rick came to Hanlon & Partners Ltd in 2002, after completing studies at the Otago Polytechnic. His proficiency as a CAD operator and his enthusiasm in the engineering field add to the draughting skills of the firm.

Jon Innes

Drafter

BSc (Civil) Engineering, PgDip Management

Jon began Structural Design and Draughting in 2005 after studying in Canada and New Zealand. He joined Hanlon & Partners Ltd in 2012 working primarily on producing structural drawings for commercial and residential builds, alterations and seismic strengthening work.

Fiona Anderson

Administration

Fiona joined Hanlon & Partners in 2013. She brings a wealth of skills and knowledge to the firm having previously worked in Consulting Engineering and Manufacturing offices.

Debbie Emmerson

Office and Accounts Manager

With extensive experience in business/financial administration. Debbie is the primary contact for our new and longstanding clients. She streamlines company operations by maintaining office systems and supporting the Engineers and Drafters
